Ike Cole, like his older brother Nat King Cole, achieved wide recognition as a pianist and singer. He was in much demand internationally, and recorded seventeen record albums during his career.
.. Ike was born in Chicago and began working in the late 1950s at Chicago's famous Black Orchid Club. He traveled and performed with his trio until the late 1960s, when he began appearing as a solo entertainer.
.. Ike performed with his younger brother Freddy Cole (also a pianist and singer of international fame) in concerts during the 1980s and early 1990s. In addition, he played piano behind his niece Natalie Cole on "Route 66," one of the songs on her album "Unforgettable."
